Andrew Pinkham is a photographer inspired by 18th-century Dutch masters. He was born in Evanston, IL, but raised in Chester County, PA. Pinkham studied communications and photography at Dean College, Franklin, MA, and the Antonelli Institute, Plymouth Meeting, PA. His photography career has spanned over 30 years. Pinkham’s work has been included in exhibitions at local galleries and has appeared in numerous publications and books, including on the cover of Poet Laureate Billy Collins’ “Aimless Love.”

“A few years ago, I decided to create a body of work that drew on the influences of my childhood. Painters like George Stubbs and John James Audubon have had a significant impact on my work. These historical influences are balanced by my modern means of fabrication.

My animal portraits challenge what we consider historical or authentic, whether created yesterday or hundreds of years ago. They blur the boundaries of time and engage the observer in how we interpret the very idea of history.”
