1878 – 1952

Maurice Taquoy was born in Mareuil-sur-Ay, in the Marne region of France. Painter, watercolorist and engraver he lived and worked in Paris and has exhibited since 1905 at the Salon des Indépendants and at the Salon d’Automne, as well as in other important Parisian places. He also worked in Deauville where he was often chosen to illustrate racing and coursing programs and for publications such as Gazette du Bon Ton. He has also created wonderful aquatints, in which his elegant art deco style shines.
