Giovanni Meschini was an Italian artist who was born in 1888. He  was a professor of drawing and calligraphy and owner of the decorative painting studio Ars Nova in Terni, specialising in the production of sacred and profane postcards, sketches, tempera paintings and, above all, au pochoir prints, a special technique based on a colouring process in which colours were applied to the drawing with the help of cardboard or metal ‘masks’. Giovanni Meschini died in 1977.
