Willem van Honthorst
(Utrecht, 1594 – Utrecht, 19 February 1666)
Younger brother of the more famous Gherardo delle Notti, both initiated to the painting career by their father.
He attended the school of Caravaggio, and became a well renowned portraitist.
He lived for many years in Berlin where he became the court painter.
