I am a Russian painter, a graduate of the Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg, currently living on Lake Como, and a member of the Union of Artists of Saint Petersburg.
My works are rooted in 19th-century Russian realism, where “truth and beauty” are deeply intertwined with a strong connection to nature and the landscape. They also extend into Soviet Impressionism, which emphasizes a direct engagement with reality, aiming not only to represent it but to experience it actively. This approach highlights the beauty of the “everyday,” capturing the soul and charm of ordinary life in its most romantic simplicity. My relationship with light and shadow is deeply influenced by the great masters of Flemish art.
My work ranges from portraiture (including greyhounds and beyond) to landscapes, from painting to decorative art, and even extends into fashion and jewelry design.
For painting, I prefer oil on linen, but I create works in various techniques (oil, watercolor, acrylic, ink, gold, pencil, charcoal, ink, paste, and mixed media) on a wide range of surfaces, including canvas, paper, and cardboard, as well as silk, wood, leather, and ceramics.
